We greatly appreciate residents’ patience and goodwill during the significant inconvenience caused by this lengthy exercise and hope that the work will result in the expected improvements for road users and residents.
We ask residents to note that the Queens Drive / Upham Road bus gate will be operational from midnight on SUNDAY 21ST OCTOBER. The bus gate CCTV system will become operational and buses will again continue to use Upham Road as normal. In addition, all parking restrictions on Upham Road will become enforceable from this date.
Please read the leaflet attached from the contractors which contains detailed information of proposed work and road closures from October 15th – 22nd, rubbish collection and bus gate reopening. This is Contractor’s leaflet No 7 which councillors understand has been delivered to local residents.
We remain disappointed that it has not been possible to complete Phase 3 repairs of the Upham Road – which would have improved the condition of the section of Upham Road between Brixham Avenue and Queens Drive –as part of the work.
Emma, Steve and Abdul will continue to press for these repairs to be included in the Council’s future road repair programme when new budget is available.
