Your Britain – Forming Domestic Violence Prevention Policy

The Labour Party in Swindon, comprising of the North and South CLP's, hosted a Your Britain listening and community engagement event focussing on the often hidden issue of domestic violence. The event, introduced by North Swindon PPC Mark Dempsey, featured two key speakers. Firstly, Olwen Kelly, Director of Swindon Women's Aid – a local refuge and outreach service – set the scene on this taboo subject.

Domestic Abuse Awareness Roundtable Event

On Saturday the 16th March the Swindon Labour Party will be hosting a public roundtable discussion event on the subject of Domestic Abuse and Violence which will include guest speakers Olwen Kelly from Swindon Women's Aid and Frank Mullane from Advocacy After Fatal Domestic Abuse (AAFDA).  The feedback gathered will form part of our submission to the Your Britain policy making process being run by the national Labour Party and will help shape future policy designed to tackle domestic violence and abuse.
