The Swindon Labour group has published a wide-ranging ‘recovery plan’ aimed at kick-starting Swindon’s economy and modernising Swindon Borough Council. The 8-point plan encourages greater cross-Party working and to improve community participation in decision making.
Work by The Children’s Society shows that over a quarter of the 23,968 children living in South Swindon constituency alone, live in poverty.
On the first official day of campaigning of this General Election, 1500 voters in Swindon have been told by Swindon Borough Council that they are being removed from the electoral register.

The Swindon Labour Group is delighted to hear that the bid for Heritage Action Zone status for the Railway Village and Railway Works area has been successful.
The Labour Group strongly object to the Council’s proposal to scrap plastics recycling collection. When Swindon already has a terrible recycling rate, we think this decision is a further backward step.
