East Wichel News from Councillor Nadine Watts

Updates from Councillor Nadine Watts on the new play area in East Wichel, parking consulations and traffic survey following the opening of the new Waitrose store.

At the time of writing, the new play area in East Wichel should be open at the end of September.  It is looking fantastic.  This has been long awaited by residents and I am sure it will be well used.  An official opening is planned for the October half term.

The formal consultation into the parking restrictions in East Wichel should start at the beginning of October.  I would encourage as many East Wichel residents as possible to take part in this consultation.

Now that the Waitrose store has been opened and traffic levels should have settled, a traffic survey is being carried out in Mill Lane to assess traffic levels on that road. One outcome that could come out of the results of this survey would be to close Mill Lane at the Waitrose Junction, to prevent two-way traffic coming up and down the part of the road that leads on to Westlecot Road. As soon as I know the results of the survey, I'll let people know.
