This year's Old Town Christmas Lights Switch-On will be taking place on the evening of Thursday 28th November in Wood Street.

The lights switch on is at 7pm, but the street is busy from 6pm.  Les Bicyclettes, Fire Jugglers – Raving Loonies, Robbo the Clown etc, cast from Jack and the Beanstalk at the Wyvern, Tanwood Dancers and Town Crier: Fred Ferris will all be there.

Father Christmas comes up Wood Street on a sleigh throwing out sweets (donated by Monahan’s) at 7.10pm.  Then there is the Swindon Male Voice Choir accompanied by the Wroughton Silver Band.

Labour Councillor Nadine Watts commented "This is a popular community event and as Councillor for Old Town I am looking forward to attending with my family as Swindon gets into the festive mood."

Crowds are expected to gather from 6pm onwards for the switch-on.
