Update on Sussex Square Regeneration

We are pleased that the initial plans for the £10m regeneration of Sussex Square have been developed.  The plans include new shops, a pharmacy, a post office, a new library, new community space on the site of the Bulldog Public House, and a mixture of new flats and houses on the site of the existing square.

We are pleased that the initial plans for the £10m regeneration of Sussex Square have been developed.  The plans include new shops, a pharmacy, a post office, a new library, new community space on the site of the Bulldog Public House, and a mixture of new flats and houses on the site of the existing square.

It is anticipated that a planning application will be submitted early in 2014 for building to begin at the start of 2015 and the scheme to be completed by early 2018.

Abdul said: “We organised a public exhibition in June in order to give residents a proper say over the plans.  We will ensure residents are kept informed as the project moves forward.”

We will do all we can to ensure the Tory Council’s failure to deliver regeneration in the town centre and at Cavendish Square, are not repeated at Sussex Square.
