Update from Councillor Nadine Watts for Old Town and East Wichel residents

It was fantastic to be involved in 2 brilliant community events: the official opening of the Angel Ridge play area and also the “Let’s Look After” in Old Town.

It was fantastic to be involved in 2 brilliant community events: the official opening of the Angel Ridge play area and also the “Let’s Look After” in Old Town.

It was great to see people of all ages enjoying the play area/space.   Council departments and local residents worked together to have a successful event.  Hopefully, the design will be award winning.  Plans for a community orchard are also being investigated.

“Let’s Look After” organised by the Pipers Area Residents’ Association again has made a huge difference in Old Town.  Various sites were worked on, including: Billboard area on Newport Street, outside the museum, Intel roundabout and on Victoria Road near Union Row, as well as litter picking across the area.

The decision note has been signed off for the East Wichel bus gate Traffic Regulation Order.  This means that signage and linage can be looked at before this is brought into operation.
