The Police and Crime Plan for Swindon is open for public comment

The draft Police and Crime Plan for Swindon and Wiltshire is available at www.wiltshire-pcc.gov.uk and is open for public comment.  The final version of this document will set the strategic direction of policing in Wiltshire and Swindon for the next four years and includes key initiatives Police and Crime Commissioner Angus Macpherson will implement during his term in office.

Mr Macpherson’s priorities include:

  • Strengthening neighbourhood policing by creating Safer Neighbourhood Teams
  • Greater police officer visibility, including more foot patrols, within our communities
  • Launching a £1 million innovation fund
  • Setting up quarterly victim forums and victims panels
  • Enhancing the quality of service people receive when they contact Wiltshire Police

Reducing the current re-offending rate by commissioning services which support those leaving prison
