Taking Action to Save Lydiard Park

Thank you for placing your trust in me to deliver for Lydiard and Freshbrook by electing me as your councillor in the local elections.

Whether you voted for me or another candidate, I will serve each of you equally, honestly and diligently. A key part of my campaign was a break away from traditional politics, where many of you stated all politicians are the same. I pledged to change your perceptions and I will deliver.

Another key pledge I made was to defend Lydiard Park as our community's most valued asset by ensuring control is not given away to a private company.

I have made my first step to deliver that pledge by calling for an extraordinary council meeting on Wednesday 15th June, where I will call on the council to prevent Lydiard falling into private hands.

Your votes delivered a mandate to ensure Lydiard Park stays in public hands; the leader of the council said he would listen to voters, so I will drive forward your message and implore him to deliver his promise to listen. I hope the other West Swindon Councillors will support this.

A motion will also be heard on the council's plan to Parish Swindon, another issue you told me you were concerned about.

If you can make the debate, where you are entitled to question your council, the meeting will start at 7pm at the Borough Civic Offices, Euclid Street.

I will be providing further information in the coming weeks of my other pledges, working to be your year-round councillor; your voices matter all the time, not just election time.
