Councillor Watts said “I very much look forward to the new community centre opening later this year. I am sure it will have an important role in strengthening the community in Old Town.” Work will begin on the new community centre over the coming weeks. It will bring 4 brilliant acts to a stunning church in Wiltshire on Saturday 4th May 2013. Tickets are now on sale for the one-off event at Christ Church in Swindon, with every penny of the ticket money going directly to this hugely important cause.
On Saturday the 16th March the Swindon Labour Party will be hosting a public roundtable discussion event on the subject of Domestic Abuse and Violence which will include guest speakers Olwen Kelly from Swindon Women's Aid and Frank Mullane from Advocacy After Fatal Domestic Abuse (AAFDA). The feedback gathered will form part of our submission to the Your Britain policy making process being run by the national Labour Party and will help shape future policy designed to tackle domestic violence and abuse.
