Swindon Mela at the Community Fair: Saturday 7th December

Voluntary and Community groups in Swindon will be showcasing their work at the Central Library on Saturday 7th December 2013 (9.30am to 3.30pm) and The Swindon Mela will be attending with a promotional stand to fund raise through fun activities such as sari tying, henna art, threading and face painting.

Voluntary and Community groups in Swindon will be showcasing their work at the Central Library on Saturday 7th December 2013 (9.30am to 3.30pm) and The Swindon Mela will be attending with a promotional stand to fund raise through fun activities such as sari tying, henna art, threading and face painting. Swindon Mela will also looking to recruit volunteers to fill in various committee members roles to support the Mela Project Team in planning the event for 2014.

The Central Library will also be arranging a wide range of events to take part throughout the day so there will be plenty of family fun. The full list of groups who will be attending the Community Fair are:

The Community Fair will be taking place throughout the ground floor area of the Central Library with all stall holders will be offering people the chance to learn more about the services they provide to the people of Swindon.

For those with children there will be a special ‘Wintery’ story and song time session. There will also be a treat from the community choir with seasonal songs while in the afternoon up on the 2nd Floor Reading Room there will be a chance to escape the frantic run-up to Christmas with ‘Winter Tales’ – a mix of music, prose and poetry based on the theme of ‘Winter’.
