Five Swindon organsations (Swindon Tenants Campaign Group, Swindon People's Assembly, Swindon Labour Group, GMB trade union, UNITE trade union) are coming together to launch Swindon Housing Action Campaign in response to the Housing crisis. The campaign will be launched with town centre leafleting on Saturday November 28th, from 10.00 – 12.00 o'clock.

Five Swindon organsations (see below) are coming together to launch Swindon Housing Action Campaign in response to the Housing crisis.
The campaign will be launched with town centre leafleting on Saturday November 28th, from 10.00 – 12.00 o'clock.

Campaign against government attacks on social housing, such as the extension of RTB and the forced sale of 'high value' Council Homes;
Defend existing Council housing and campaign for a new Council housing programme to address unmet housing need;
Campaign against exploitative private sector landlords and poor living conditions, for regulation of the sector, more secure tenancy and cheaper rents;
Campaign for 'development' which provides homes for need rather than speculative building and profiteering' by 'developers' and house builders.
We will also be producing a leaflet directed at the private rented sector and delivering in the areas where there is a concentration of the PRS. If you are prepared to help deliver please let us know and we will inform you when we will doing so.
