Swindon Borough Council offers the “Big Community Switch”

At the beginning of this year the Council became part of a collective energy switch called the “Big Community Switch”. This was something councillors of all parties supported and was actually started in the UK by a group of Greater Manchester Councils.  You can find out more about the energy switch scheme here. The next deadline to sign up is by 18 November.

Anne Snelgrove, Labour's Parliamentary Candidate for South Swindon, said:  "It's good news for 1000 Swindon households that the council has an energy switch scheme.

However, there are over 80,000 households within Swindon Borough Council so it's just a drop in the ocean. Labour believes we can do much more for every Swindon household and every Swindon business.

That's why Labour is pledging to freeze all gas and electricity bills from 2015 – 2017. We'll also sort out the energy market to make sure it works properly and bills can never go up as steeply again as they are at the moment."

You can sign our petition to tell the Tories to freeze your gas and electricity bills now.
