Over the past year Swindon Borough Council have received a number of requests from residents in the Walcot and Shrivenham  Road areas expressing their concerns about match day and commuter parking difficulties in the areas close to the County Ground.

Recent local surveys conducted by Swindon Bortough Council on preliminary options did not result in a clear indication of a preferred option for tackling these issues on an area-wide basis, Swindon Borough council have undertaken further work to prepare a range of costed options. These address concerns arising principally from:

  • Events at Swindon Town Football Club
  • Commuter parking and parking by non-residents
  • School traffic and drop off issues
  • Parking too close to road junctions

A brief description of the options and the costs of introducing each option in both areas are available on the Council website (here) along with information on how to contribute to the consultation,

The last day for receipt of all completed questionnaire and comments is Friday 1st November 2013 and letters will be going out to residents from Swindon Borough Council over the coming week.
