Cindy Matthews is your local councillor. Since her election in 2012 Cindy has been a strong voice for residents representing your views on planned developments at Hook Street and Lydiard Fields. Cindy was the only ward councillor to attend the Hook Street planning appeal on your behalf and continues to argue against development around Lydiard Park.

Children’s Centres

West Swindon centres remain on countdown to closure or reduction in the support offered. Cindy supports Children’s Centres in West Swindon and Labour's plans to double the number of places so our children receive the best start.

Thamesdown Drive Extension Road

Cindy is a strong supporter of the link road actually being built rather than talked about. Residents reacted against Conservative plans to cancel any proposals. It seems the Tories are simply delaying things leading up to this year's elections. Only Labour is committed to funding the necessary work needed before West Swindon and the wider town becomes completely gridlocked.

Link Centre

Residents are concerned about possible changes to the library and the lack of accountability for any operational problems now that the Centre is no longer controlled by the council.   Cindy says, “I will continue to fight on your behalf to ensure your services are maintained and residents’ concerns are addressed.''

Please support Cindy on Thursday May 7th for a hard working effective voice for Lydiard and Freshbrook.
