Roads and Footpaths – Matthew Courtliff

West Swindon does not have the transport infrastructure it deserves, and the state of our roads is always an issue that is raised to me when I am canvassing in the area. Back in August, residents in Idovers Drive and the surrounding areas challenged me to chase the Council on its resurfacing plans and I am pleased to see it has been resurfaced along with Luddesdown, Selby Crescent, Edington Close and Stamford Close.

At the time of writing this leaflet footpaths on Warbeck Gate and Hampton Drive are also in the process of being resurfaced.

However, I believe the Council should have a proper strategy to tackle road resurfacing, just as any business would properly manage its projects.

One of my first initiatives, if I am successfully elected to represent you, will be to push the Council to publish a proper resurfacing programme.
