Proposed Parking Changes in Walcot

As yet no formal proposals have been put before residents and

Officers are now beginning the technical design work to enable a scheme to be put in place should the outcome of the formal consultation be a positive one  At present we expect this phase of the work to be complete by the late Autumn early Winter.  The delay in moving forward is partly due to lack of resources in SBC but also equally due to the lack of unanimity in the community on the best way forward. We do though remain committed to developing a scheme which can be put out to formal consultation. The final decision on whether a scheme goes ahead will be in the hands of the Cabinet Member and based on the responses from the consultation.

We realise that this has been a long drawn out process  community with different residents wanting different things and it has proven challenging to find a solution that pleases the majority of residents.

We are still committed to listening to residents’ views on the issues and will endeavour to keep you up to date as the scheme progresses. Please check back for updates.
