Many residents have found themselves not on the electoral register and are struggling to register to vote. It is a right for all citizens who came to Britain from the EU to vote in Local and European elections.

If you’re not registered to vote you could even face a fi ne of £80 and fi nd it harder to get a credit card or mobile phone contract.

To be added to the electoral register please access the following website – https://www.gov.uk/ register-to-vote – and you will also need your National Insurance number in order to register.

If you do not have or know your National Insurance number other acceptable forms of identifi cation to register are either a passport or photo driving licence, however you would need to bring these documents to the Civic Offi ces on Euclid Street for these documents to be scanned.
