Old Town Tower Block

Following the public uproar over plans for a 14-storey tower block the proposal was quickly withdrawn but the developer stated he will be submitting new ones. Jane and Nadine believe a tower block would be completely out of keeping with the area and would blight its future.

Corn Exchange

The legal agreements for the Corn Exchange development should be signed soon with the planning application to be submitted early next year. We look forward to the building's restoration in keeping with the character of the surrounding area.

Hesketh Crescent Play Area Refurbishment

Work is progressing well and is scheduled for completion in April. A community planting event will follow.

Townsend House

It is great to see that work has now started on Townsend House in Bath Road. It is to be redeveloped into 15 one- and two-bedroom apartments for those who work in essential public services. It should be finished in August 2016.

Belmont Crescent/ Westlecot Road/The Mall junction

The decision has now been signed off for the traffic regulation order for this area. We will inform you once dates for required work to be carried out are known.

Town Gardens Footbridge

The project is currently out to tender with work scheduled for September this year.
