Notice of Public Meeting: Protect Lydiard Park

A public meeting has now been organised on the 12th January at 7pm at the Lydiard Park Academy. Please come along and give your views on the Council’s plans to the councillors proposing to hand over Lydiard to the private sector.

Conservative-run Swindon Borough Council has proposed to transfer the running of Lydiard House and Park to a privately run company or organisation.

Since October, the Friends of Lydiard Park has conducted a campaign to save the House and Park and have set-up an online petition which has been signed by over 7,000 people who oppose the council’s plans.  A version of the petition can be found here and this version collects the details necessary to trigger a debate at an upcoming Swindon Council Meeting. Please add your details to this petition.

As your candidate for Councillor, I am fully supportive of this petition and I am committed to stopping the transfer of Lydiard to the private sector if I am elected in next May’s local elections.
