We welcome the news that a 20 MPH Zone is to be established in Walcot West.
This is the result of positive support from residents to the formal consultation on the proposal. The zone is due to be established by the end of March 2017.
We can assure residents that no traffic calming is to be installed as consequence of the establishing the zone.
We would like to thank all those residents who contributed to the formal consultation exercise. The 20 MPH zone proposal was the only scheme which had overwhelming support from respondents. Evidence from other parts of the country show that these zones can make a real difference in the quality of life in the local community.
Plans to introduce parking restrictions in parts of Walcot West did not receive enough support from residents to be taken forward.
