Essential maintenance works will be carried out to Springfield Road bridge over the Old Town Railway Path.  The works are constrained by a window of opportunity over the summer between the bird nesting and bat roosting periods.  It is unlikely that any traffic disruption will result from the scheme.  The intention is to commence work during the summer and expect a four week period of site activity. All going well, a start date of 29th July will be met and works completed before the start of the new academic year.

Cllr Nadine Watts (Old Town) said that, "Hopefully there will be very little disruption, as we would hope to take advantage of summer weather conditions whilst minimising disturbance of local wildlife and nearby residents
