Cindy Matthews, your local Labour Councillor, has been continuing to try and help residents in Grange Park opposed to the development of the land at Hook Street, which was given outline planning permission at the Appeal Hearing last year.
Cindy was the only ward councillor to attend that 2 day planning hearing last year and the only ward councillor to attend the recent planning committee. Cindy took the decision to call the detailed plans in so that they had to be heard by the planning committee because she felt that after such a long campaign of opposing the development it wasn't right that residents views were disregarded.
As Cindy said at the committee, if she hadn't contacted local residents the first thing they would have known about the plans was when the developers moved in. Cindy feels that this is a gap in the planning process which she will continue to raise with the Council.
