We have 7 Labour Women as Councillors out of 24 & are always keen to see more women elected.  Have you thought about it?

Being a Councillor is a job that’s as big as you make it.

Councillors receive financial allowances.

Councillors have to balance the needs and interests of residents the political party they represent and the council.

It is important that councils have councillors who reflect and represent the communities they serve.

You don’t have to be highly educated or have a profession. Skills gained through raising a family, caring for a sick or disabled relative, volunteering or being active in faith or community groups can be just as valuable.

It’s not about meetings & not all Councillors make speeches in the council chamber. Just as important is an ability to engage with the local community.

Interested or not, do come, meet us and find out what we do on your behalf.
