On Saturday 22 June The Environment Agency launched their Challenges & Choices consultation, which gives people the opportunity to tell them what they feel needs to be protected and improved on their local rivers.

The Environment Agency feel that it is vital that they work to preserve and enhance these local rivers for all to enjoy, and believe the best way to do this is by working collaboratively with local government, communities and volunteers. By managing water usage; the natural environment, business and economic growth will be protected and long term benefits for health and wellbeing are improved.

The consultation allows members of the public to comment separately on what they feel are the most significant issues nationally and locally. The closing date for the consultation on nationally significant issues, called England’s Waters, closes on Sunday 22 September 2013. The consultation for local issues will close on Sunday 22 December 2013.
