Emma Bushell: Support local charity Empower on its Ride Around Gambia to build nursery school.

In the New Year I will be taking part in a sponsored “Ride around Gambia” (in a gym, on an exercise bike) to raise funds to build a nursery school in Gambia. Empower is a charity founded by an Eastcott resident which works with local communities in Gambia to improve community and educational facilities. I took part in a trip in 2010 to do some teaching and renovation in one of the schools supported.

Jo, the organiser, would appreciate any support the Labour Party can lend this fundraising endeavour. If anyone would like to sponsor me, please get in touch.

Further participants are needed so you could also join me to do a 30 minute cycle session between January 2nd and 5th. Think of it as a free post-Xmas work-out!

Empower Ride Around The Gambia– on an exercise bike!

Thursday 2nd – Sunday 5th January  8am – 8pm  Kiss Gym, Swindon
Can you help cycle part of the 422 mile challenge? Empower needs to raise £1600 to complete Agape Nursery School, Bansang, The Gambia, which is due to open in April 2014. It’s a great way to get back in shape after Christmas and fundraise! If you can spare 30 minutes why not come down to Kiss Gym and cycle some of the miles. Contact Jo Heaven on joheavenempower@aol.co.uk or 07771804365 to pick up a sponsor form or make a donation. You will need to be over 18 and in good health.
