Cllr Nadine Watts (Old Town & East Wichel ward) has been in contact with the senior landscape architect at the Council this week and he informed her that the East Wichel permanent play area has slipped by about 2 weeks.  Start on site is now April/early May.  It is a 12 week work schedule, so completion is early July.

Cllr Nadine Watts said that, "The delay is because the revised drawings had to be sent to planning relating to the tree at the front of the site to be pollarded (cutting off the top and branches to encourage new growth at the top) and that bit consulted on.  It was originally thought that this works could be done as part of maintenance, but it couldn't be.

The play area is still on track to be completed before the school summer holidays.  I'm sure local residents will be pleased and reassured once they see that work has started on site.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions on this."
