Councillor Nadine Watts (Old Town) would like to bring to your attention that there is an event being held by Swindon Borough Council at Croft School on Tuesday 15 July, 17:00 – 19:45 and Wednesday 16 July 2014, 17:00 – 19:45 to:

1. Get your views regarding the design of a School Safety Zone, which is an area around a school where speed mitigating measures are introduced to improve the perception of safety
2. Get your views regarding the review of parking restrictions in the area which include the old Marlborough Road
3. Provide information on pre-school and post-school opening traffic data for Croft School
4. Provide an update on the status of the Croft School planning conditions and our compliance
5. Provide a brief update on the Council’s Leisure Services Review, playing fields and car park

There will be a number of exhibition boards for you to review that will be manned by Council Officers supported by Engineers from CH2M Hill (formerly Halcrow). These boards seek to explain the choices and impacts of various options available to the Council in the design of the School Safety Zone and changes to parking restrictions.

The Council are keen to understand your views on what you think would be the right design for these schemes. You may provide your view on the night to the Officers or by feedback forms that will be available or indeed via the internet page we are setting up.

The internet page will be available immediately after the event and will contain all the exhibition boards with a feedback facility so if you cannot attend the event your views will still be taken into account.

Hope to see you there.
