Councillors’ Hotline Table Shows Nadine Watts to be Hardest Working Councillor

The residents of Old Town and East Wichel expect their councillors to work hard to ensure the area looks as good as it can be and to assist them with any issues they have.  I hope by publishing this table it shows that I have kept my commitment to residents during the 2014 election that I would work hard for them.

A table has been published showing the number of cases to be addressed raised by Councillors through a councillors' hotline since May 2014. This table has been described by some councillors as the easiest way of finding out how hard a councillor works for their residents. The table shows that Old Town & East Wichel Councillor, Nadine Watts, has raised the most number of cases.

Councillor Nadine Watts raised 136 cases with the Councillors' Hotline since May 2014, which is more than double the number of cases raised compared with 56 of the 58 Swindon Councillors. The two other Councillors for Old Town & East Wichel, Councillors Rod Bluh and Brian Mattock, have raised a total of 4 cases through the members' hotline.

Old Town & East Wichel Councillor, Nadine Watts, said: “The residents of Old Town and East Wichel expect their councillors to work hard to ensure the area looks as good as it can be and to assist them with any issues they have.  I hope by publishing this table it shows that I have kept my commitment to residents during the 2014 election that I would work hard for them.

However, dealing with residents’ enquiries is not the only part of being a good councillor and I also take part in community events, attend residents' meetings and I have a 100% attendance for council meetings."

Labour’s Old Town & East Wichel Candidate, Bob Cretchley, said:  “I think this table reflects how hard Nadine works for the residents of Old Town and East Wichel, particularly when you compare the number of cases that Nadine has raised compared with her ward councillor colleagues in Old Town and East Wichel. If elected in May, I will follow Nadine’s lead in working very hard for the residents of Old Town and East Wichel in order to continue to improve the area"
