This Friday 4th December, Councillor Fay Howard (Liden, Eldene & Park South Councillor) is sleeping out in the annual fundraiser for Threshold, Swindon’s homelessness charity. The sleep-out will be at the Emmanuel Church Car Park on Upham Road.

Councillor Howard said: “Threshold  do an amazing job throughout the year supporting our homeless population. It's important to remember and do all we can to help those who find themselves in greater need. My church, Gateway Swindon is supporting Threshold this Christmas. I am joining the sleep out to help raise further funds and highlight the plight of Swindon’s homeless. I will be sleeping out alongside other volunteers including my husband Ian. We will be sleeping out in December, let us not forget it's going to get colder and too many people don't have homes to sleep in. For us it'll be one night, a small price to pay to do all we can to support and raise much needed funding for Threshold.”

Threshold are a local independent charity who work to tackle the many issues surrounding homelessness.   They are best known for their direct access hostel called Culvery Court, but they also have Street Outreach workers, run houses for young people, another for women only and other services encouraging people into permanent private accommodation.   Every year over 750 people access their services within Swindon.
