Corn Exchange Development Contracts Signed

The contracts between Swindon Borough Council and the Corn Exchange developer have now been signed and exchanged, enabling the development of the Corn Exchange site to be moved further forward.

A development at the Corn Exchange site has been discussed for many years and the exchange of contracts draws the development one step closer. However a Planning Application for the development of the site will still need to be approved.

Old Town Councillor, Nadine Watts, has been working closely with the lead developer of the Corn Exchange site and has welcome the recent progress in making this development happen.

Councillor Nadine Watts said:

"It has been a long time coming & I have been frequently asked when the redevelopment of the Corn Exchange will take place. I look forward to a detailed planning application being submitted which is in keeping with the character of Old Town and residents being consulted on future plans. It is a very exciting time for Old Town & indeed Swindon.”
