We are deeply saddened at the news that Jo Cox, MP for Batley and Spen, has died today after a violent attack while she was carrying out her duties in her constituency. We offer our sincere condolences to her two children and to her husband Brendan.
Jo Cox was highly respected for her work during her short time as an MP, and during her career working for charities. Her contributions to the Labour Party and the country will be sorely missed.
