Councillor Nadine Watts (Old Town & East Wichel) would like to draw attention to the following update from Jo Heaven, Empower
Founder and Chair:
A big thank you for the support you have been giving us over the last few weeks and we are on target for the £1000 we need to raise by the end of July to complete the building project of Agape Nursery School. Our first two events raised £350 which was sent out last week and building work is recommencing – its a race against the end of July rains to get the roof on but hopefully with the events coming up we will get there! Check the progress of our projects on www.facebook.com/EmpowertheGambia
Our main source of fundraising is from our Frock Swaps – lots of lovely new and nearly new clothing by Per Una, Next, Monsoon, Karen Milan, Ben Sherman and top end high street names as well as accessories, shoes and new beauty products from 50p – £10. We welcome donations at the events and trade stand bookings.
We are also happy to link with other charity events to do joint fundraising ie we bring the frocks and the other charity runs the refreshments, raffle and trade stands. We can also do mini frock swaps at work places or private parties.
