Clare Moody, Your Police and Crime Comissionner Candidate in Devizes

Put into context the Devizes area is one of the safest places to live in the UK with some of the lowest crime statistics. This is in no small part due to the co-operation between the community and the Police.

Recorded crime has continued to fall over the last few years. However, to maintain these levels and to reduce crime still further requires diligence and hard work married to the appropriate resources that our Police Force needs. Recent figures re-leased by the Police show the decline in crime.

Currently manpower is up to full strength in the area, but resources are always under threat. So it is vital that Police resources are protected so that they can protect us.

Devizes town itself is fortunate to have one of the most up-to-date CCTV systems with the lowest running costs in the County. This has contributed to a significant reduction in criminal damage over the time it has been running, and also providing evidence leading to the conviction of a number of individuals.

Generally the main types of crime that irritate people around the area are anti-social behaviour, littering and speeding motorists.

There has been a history of building up strong relationships in the Devizes area between the community and the Police which has worked to deal with Policing priorities, identified from local consultations.

Your safety is of great concern to the Labour Party and we don’t want to see this put at risk; that is why the Labour Party are urging you to vote for Clare Moody on November 15th
