Thamesdown Transport have announced changes to bus No 1/1A serving Walcot East.
The changes will come into effect from May 29th 2016.
The service will be replaced by a new Service 2 running from east Swindon to the town centre.
Unfortunately this means a slightly reduced service from every 10 minutes to every 12 minutes from Walcot East.
There will still be a bus every 12 minutes on Saturdays and every 30 minutes on Sundays and midweek evenings.
Thamesdown Transport is justifying the changes on the lack of customer growth on the 1/1A route from east to west Swindon over the last year.
However, the bus company reports that passenger numbers on the enhanced service 16 (Hospital Service) and 17 which serve Queens Drive and Walcot West and Park North did increase as hoped for and there are no changes to these routes.

There have been additional changes to TravelPass prices but the Evening Rider pass will now be available from 18.00
