Appeal for Traffic Lights at Regent Circus

After being rebuffed once again by the council we have received this appeal from a Royal National Institute for the Blind campaigner on behalf of the visually impaired people of Swindon.

I write on behalf of visually impaired people who are dismayed at not being able to use the road on the corner between the Swindon Library and Morrison’s at the top of Commercial Road. Those of us that have tried the crossing have been scared because we have not been able to make eye contact with drivers and have little or no faith in drivers who cannot understand or appreciate our blindness – some drivers are not slowing down.

We continue to act on their behalf.
