Anne Snelgrove calls on Cllr David Renard to not let party politics prevent him from helping to save our Children’s Centres

Anne Snelgrove, Labour’s candidate for South Swindon, has today renewed her call to Robert Buckland and David Renard to put aside their party politics and help her save Swindon’s children’s centres, which are currently slated to be closed on 30th March.

Anne Snelgrove, Labour’s candidate for South Swindon, has today renewed her call to Robert Buckland and David Renard to put aside their party politics and help her save Swindon’s children’s centres, which are currently slated to be closed on 30th March.

Anne has called for the council to agree to keep the Children’s Centres open for an additional six weeks in order to know the outcome of the General Election on 7th May.  If Labour wins the election, they will provide 25 hours free childcare for 3 and 4 year olds, and will use Children’s Centres such as those marked for closure to provide the extra places needed.

Sign the petition calling for a delay to the closures.

Anne Snelgrove, Labour’s candidate for South Swindon, said: “Today I’ve replied to a letter I recently received from David Renard, calling on him again to put aside the politics in this situation and to help save Swindon’s Children’s Centres.  I constantly meet people on the doorstep who are concerned about what will happen once they are closed, and how they will manage.

It is vital that Cllr Renard and Mr Buckland help me save Swindon’s Children’s Centres – they play too important a role in our local community for us to allow them to close without a fight.”
