Angel Ridge Play Area Update

Much work has been done on the Angel Ridge play area and the design is fantastic.  This week, the Council has been contacted by the contractor who has requested a 14 day extension to the contracted time allowance which will mean a practical completion deadline of 5 December

Works have progressed well since the contractors previous time extension application – which was due to the discovery of two strategic water mains that the Council had to accommodate and agree with Thames Water.

However, the contractor reports that nurseries are not lifting field grown trees yet due to the exceptionally mild weather we have experienced recently and that he has had difficulties procuring sufficient walling stone to complete the walls that make up the framework of the space due to high market demand.

It would be good to get the scheme finished as a ‘turn-key’ hand over to the Council, rather than see planting arriving a couple of weeks after the scheme is built.

The contractor is hoping to finish before this time, but I'll keep you updated on anticipated completion dates.

It would be good to have an official opening of the play area once it is complete.  Please contact me if you are interested in getting involved with this and/or know anyone who would like to help."
