The Labour Group’s Leader and Shadow Lead for Country Parks, Councillors Jim Grant and Jim Robbins, have also wrote an open letter to the Leader of the Council and the Friends of Lydiard, outlining the Labour Group’s position with regards to Lydiard Park. Please find this letter attached.

For a petition to be debated at Full Council, it requires 1,500 signatures.

The Leader of the Labour Group, Councillor Jim Grant, said: “The Labour Group fully endorse the petition that the Friends of Lydiard have initiated calling on the Council not to hand over Lydiard Park to the commercial sector. It is testament to the strength of feeling for Lydiard Park that more than 130 people have signed the petition in less than 24 hours.

We have also wrote to the Leader of the Council and the Friends of Lydiard setting out the Labour Group’s position on Lydiard Park and have called on the four urgent actions to take place by the Council.”
