Blakedown Operations have now been appointed as the contractor for Hesketh Crescent play area and the Council's Health and Safety team have arranged a number of measures to minimise the disruption to residents at Hesketh Crescent.

Blakedown Operations have now been appointed as the contractor for Hesketh Crescent play area and the Council's Health and Safety team have arranged the following to minimise the disruption to residents at Hesketh Crescent:
- The school have offered to allow the contractor to have exclusive use of their upper car park for the duration of the works. This will greatly reduce the impact of the construction works to the Hesketh Crescent residents, as delivery vehicles will turn into the car park rather navigating turning around in Hesketh Crescent to deliver materials.
- The Croft Sports Centre have agreed to the contractors using their toilets, wash facilities, and rest rooms. This will minimise the need to use generators on site to provide welfare facilities.
- The Council will be posting a leaflet to Hesketh Crescent residents on Monday 16 November with information about the duration of the works, and contact details for more information.
- There will be a display of the final design/refurbishment works in Croft Sports Centre reception area from Monday 16 November, for the duration of the works.
The planned date for start of works was 16 November. There were delays in exchanging contracts and this will now been done w/c 23 November.
The dates for the works are now:
- Start of works: 30 November.
- The tree pruning, shrub clearance, and removal of old play structures will be completed before Christmas and the construction works will start early in the new year.
- Completion of the construction works and new tree/shrub planting is planned for February.
Community wild flower plug planting event in March
Wild flower species will provide insect habitats for foraging bats and the Council will be linking this activity to the bat tagging project arranged last autumn with Wiltshire Wildlife Trust and the Croft school. The school will be playing an active part in planning the event and inviting Hesketh residents to join in.
