We are pleased to announce that the Post Office is proposing to move the branch to a new location at the new Co-Op in Sussex Place as part of the new development.
Residents have expressed concern about the closure of the Post Office at Martins Newsagents in Sussex Square.
We are pleased to announce that the Post Office is proposing to move the branch to a new location at the new Co-Op in Sussex Place as part of the new development.
Unfortunately, due to the current re-development work the branch will be temporarily closed as of Saturday August 29th.
We regret the inconvenience this will cause to many residents – particularly those who rely on the post office to collect their pensions.
This comes despite the best efforts of local councillors and council officers who lobbied the various parties concerned hard to avoid any temporary loss of service.
We hope that the new post-office branch will be open mid-November when the fit-out of the new Co-Op is complete.
As part of standard procedures, the Post Office has now started a 6 week local public consultation and would like residents’ views on the suitability of the proposed new location.
