The government has identified Tory-run Swindon Council as presiding over the largest Council Tax increase in the country – an inflation busting 10%.
Meanwhile services are declining, they have failed to regenerate the Town Centre and they’ve spent millions on road projects like Bruce Street Bridges Roundabout that have done nothing to improve traffic.
The Labour Councillors in Swindon opposed and campaigned against these Council Tax increases.
Labour has also made a commitment not to increase residents’ Council Taxes above the government threshold without holding a local referendum.
