The headline act for this unique event is Emily Barker and the Red Clay Halo.

Hailing from Bridgetown, Western Australia, Emily Barker is a compelling songwriter with a gift for weaving melody and words. Her talent is perfectly complimented by the magnificent arrangements of her band The Red Clay Halo, whose rootsy ensemble playing underpins Barker’s agile vocal blend of strength and fragility. This is the first time she’s playing in Swindon.

REFUGE will also showcase some of the most exciting female fronted acts with Colour the Atlas also on the bill. 4 friends, who have worked tirelessly to share their folk pop to audiences across the country, with exposure on BBC Radio 1, 2, and 6 Music.

Also on the bill are Jen Olive, and Faye Rogers – both have Swindon as their musical home, with entirely different influences, but the same stunning songwriting, and beautiful guitar textures.

Swindon Women’s Aid has, since 1975, provided a 24 hour helpline offering advice, support and/or emergency accommodation to women, and any dependants, who have been mentally, physically or sexually abused by their husband, partner or ex partner.

It’s a service that has touched thousands of families across Wiltshire.

The event, REFUGE, aims to be beautifully intimate, endeavouring to bring exciting music from city-centre music venues, and into unique locations within this Wiltshire town.

REFUGE started in 2011 with Gabrielle Aplin and Michele Stodart (Magic Numbers) on the bill, which took place in a quirky and intimate venue, the Swindon Museum and Art Gallery.

This year, expect 4 live acts, candles, complimentary cake and wine, and one of the most
