The Waitrose application for the Mid Wichel district centre (off Mill Lane and Foxham Way) was determined at planning committee on 11 June. They are aiming to start on site in mid-September and open next Easter.  

Further to the plans for the development of Middle Wichel District Centre Swindon Borough Council Highways team have provided additional information on how the new road layouts will be implemented and on new speed restrictions to ensure the safety of pedestrians and road users when the new district centre is complete. On the 14th and 15th of February there were two public exhibition events regarding proposals for a new supermarket to be developed as part of the district centre for Middle Wichel. The exhibitions were manned by Kilo (supermarket developer) and their design team, with officers from the Local Highway Authority also on hand to discuss potential road improvements on Mill Lane linked to the supermarket development.
