Thursday 3rd May: Eastcott Needs Labour Councillors

The local Tories have cut front line services. There has also been a substantial increase in the cost of essential services to the elderly and vulnerable, such as meals on wheels and home care, whilst money has been wasted on failed vanity projects such as Wifi and the Tabernacle Stones. Only Labour Councillors really challenge Tory policies. If elected Emma, Andy and Chris will listen to your concerns and effectively represent the interests of Eastcott.

Wi-Fi – Adding Insult to Injury

As if losing £400,000 of council tax payers money were not bad enough we will all be picking up a further £4,000 bill for preparing the long overdue Digital City accounts. After much prevarication we have also been told that Rikki Hunt received £80,000 for consultancy services to the council! Shaw Tory councillor Gary Perkins has been the council’s nominated director on Digital City during this fiasco while your other two Tory councillors are in the Cabinet. PLEASE USE YOUR…

Labour Action – Cleaning up Litter and Fixing Pot Holes

Labour Action: In 2 years we have cleaned up Lyndhurst Crescent, Cranmore Avenue, buckhurst Fields, and New College. Tory Failure: Unlike the Tories, we don’t talk about cleaning up litter, we do it. Labour Action: Our Pot Holes campaign led to pot holes being filled and resurfacing of Kingswood Av, Whitbourne Av and Upham Road. Tory Failure: Tory cuts to the road repairs budget led to Swindon being labelled Pot Hole City.
