Simon Firth Campaigning For Shaw

I have been talking to many people in Shaw, and hearing your concerns about the NHS, education, taxes, Lydiard and more.

I have been working with the Swindon Labour team and discussing manifesto priorities with the Swindon shadow cabinet. The Swindon Labour Manifesto will be published soon and it will cover many key areas including town centre development, children’s facilities, local procurement and jobs, housing and social care. Your vote in marginal wards like Shaw is crucial to give us the majority we need in the council to implement these improvements.

West Swindon Library in Shaw now has extra unstaffed opening hours including computer access. The Conservatives had proposed to drop support for most branch libraries in Swindon altogether before the campaign chaired by Sarah to Save Swindon Libraries.

I’m delighted that Sarah Church, who has been working so hard in the Swindon community and stood for Labour in the 2017 general election, has been reselected as your parliamentary candidate.

Between us we have the values and skills to make Swindon better, prioritizing people’s needs for the future, within the limits of our environment, over short term profits for the very large financial interests that are currently in control. I hope you share our aspirations and will give us a chance to make Swindon better for you.
