Nadine Watts: Foxham Way re-opening delayed‏‎

The laying of materials on the new roundabout at the junction of Foxham Way/Mill Lane has been delayed due to weather restrictions.  This combined with the weather delays that Midas, the Waitrose contractor, have suffered mean that everyone involved are having to accommodate each other’s construction operations which creates coordination issues and inevitable delays.

Cllr Nadine Watt (Old Town) has just been informed of the following update:

“The laying of materials on the new roundabout at the junction of Foxham Way/Mill Lane has been delayed due to weather restrictions.  This combined with the weather delays that Midas, the Waitrose contractor, have suffered mean that everyone involved are having to accommodate each other’s construction operations which creates coordination issues and inevitable delays.  In addition to this, difficulties have been experienced with the Utility Operators which has had a direct negative impact on the programme.

Due to these difficult conditions which the Council have sought to mitigate through working over weekends where possible, bringing in extra gangs of workers, the re-opening of Foxham Way has now been put back to midday on Monday 10 February 2014.  All efforts are being concentrated on Foxham Way to achieve this opening date, although it will re-open under temporary traffic light control, as Midas will still be installing the cladding/glazing to their building throughout February.  The team will then focus on Mill Lane (from Foxham Way south to Wharf Road) which the Council anticipates finishing on 28 February 2014.

The Council apologise for this inconvenience and the delays.”
