Jim Grant: Labour Has Pledged To Keep Lydiard Park Safe For Swindon People

Labour believes that publicly owned assets, such as parks, should be kept in the ownership of the people of Swindon. The off-loading of Lydiard House and Country Park is nothing more than "daylight robbery" of something that Swindon people already own.

Labour believes that publicly owned assets, such as parks, should be kept in the ownership of the people of Swindon. The off-loading of Lydiard House and Country Park is nothing more than "daylight robbery" of something that Swindon people already own. Let us all send a strong message to local Conservatives to keep Lydiard Park and other country parks in Swindon, safe for generations to come.

Labour Group Leader Jim Grant’s Pledge:

“I am delighted to commit that any future Labour administration will keep Lydiard Park and house under Swindon Council ownership. Lydiard Park is one of the greatest features of Swindon, used by thousands of people throughout the year.

The fact it can be enjoyed by everyone as it is a public space is something Swindon can be proud of.

What’s more, I can commit that there will be no sale of any of Swindon’s other country parks under Labour.”
