Upgrade of Pedestrian Crossing on Queens Drive

Swindon Borough Council plans to upgrade the existing pedestrian crossing on Queens Drive near Burger King off the Magic Roundabout.

Swindon Borough Council plans to upgrade the existing pedestrian crossing on Queens Drive near Burger King off the Magic Roundabout.

The work will involve the removal of the existing Pelican pedestrian crossing, replacing it with a Toucan crossing slightly further away from the Magic Roundabout.

This upgrade will allow both pedestrians and cyclists to cross Queens Drive safely at the same time. The work will also include widening the central reservation to accommodate the cyclists.

The project is intended to begin on 19th February 2018, and should be completed within 6-8 weeks. The Council will be working outside of peak traffic hours under lane closures. Pedestrian and emergency access will be maintained to all properties and businesses at all times although some disruption to traffic is unavoidable and the Council apologises for any inconvenience caused by these works.
