Labour Delight at Brook Cottage Planning Application Rejection

After saving Lydiard Park from being transferred to the private sector, your local Labour Team are pleased to report that the planning application to convert Brook Cottage on the Lydiard grounds, has now been rejected.

In 2016 Lydiard Park was in danger of being transferred to the private sector company, Twigmarket, but thanks to Labour Lydiard will now be run by a local trust.

Since then two planning applications have been submitted the Lydiard in and around the Lydiard grounds. The Taylor Wimpey application for 48 homes in view of Lydiard was withdrawn after concern from residents’ and now the Brook Cottage for 4 large homes has been rejected by Swindon Council.

Your Labour Team will continue to defend Lydiard Park and will do our utmost to ensure it is protected for local residents to enjoy both now and in the future.
